Blue breakfast

I'm staying at my parent's apartment for the weekend. The fridge is full of frozen berries so I did not go for my regular green smoothie this morning but prepared a one to my dad and myself with blueberries and blackcurrants.

I threw in two bananas, a lot of black currants and blueberries and 2 glasses of fresh Tropicana red grapefruit juice. Delicious!

Next up some oatmeal and then preparing a business-related presentation for communications course for tomorrow. How is your Sunday?

Fajitas dinner with new flavors

Oh god we just had amazing dinner with my dad and sister.  For starters, my sister performed these super delicious rolls, which reminded of sushi but did not include rice.

I had been craving for fajitas with homemade guacamole and a lot of spicy onion and bell pepper. We added lenses and chickpeas to our normal side dishes, flavored with homemade pesto, yum!

For dessert, we had my ultimate favorites: mango sorbet, dried figs, cocoa mint dark chocolate.
I rarely spend my Saturdays this peacefully but definitely not a bad way to spend your weekend <3 I feel lucky to have a close relationship with my sister, who also shares a very similar way of thinking with me:) We get excited of same things, today we for example planned a yoga retreat to India. Would love that!

How did you spend your Saturday?

<3

Yogic ambition

I collected some of asanas I want to master some day. A lot of work ahead but what's life without challenges ;) Do you have goals regarding some specific asanas?

Perfection

Happy Sunday to everyone <3

Yoga in New York

Check out this video:

Such a good mood video, don't you think? Yoga session in Central Park - definitely on my bucket list :)

Wouldn't mind taking part in this either, so cool!

I just came home from HotFlow yoga class. You know the feeling when you're sweating your ass off in a class full of other yogis, the candles are lit and its a storm outside - amazing. I experienced this on Tuesday, but today's class was not bad either :)

More about yoga later - right now I just can't get enough of it!

Life lover

Hello and welcome to my blog :)

Behind the screen writes a soon to be 22 years old life lover from Helsinki, Finland. I study Business in Aalto University, in Helsinki. I've enjoyed my studies and I am especially grateful for the amazing friends I have made during my few years in University. Lately I have, however, realized that I am interested in so many other things as well, besides business. I will finish my degree in University but while I do that, I want to build my future it in a way that allows me to pursue my interests. I want to combine things I am passionate about with my degree, which marks me somewhat out from my fellow students.

For over an year now, I've independently studied on a more healthier diet as well as physical and mental health. Overall, I want to find a balance and happiness and make the most out of life. I have learned incredibly much while I have sought information on things I am passionate about, and I want to share the information, which I find can benefit all of us the most.

I also write another blog, Coco's, which is more of a diary. I want this blog to concentrate on wellness and nutrition, as they are subjects that I am most fascinated of. I prefer to write in English (please be merciful of my grammar:) ), but I might every now and then write something in Finnish as well. I hope you enjoy my posts and can pick something of them for your own journey towards a healthier lifestyle. In my opinion, you can always become more conscious of how amazing life is and how grateful we should be every day :). Do you agree?

Things that I am most passionate on exploring more right now:

Nutritious, healthy food

I have created a healthy diet for myself, which includes a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, and greens. This is the base of my meals, which are completed with most often vegetarian components. I love soups and salads, in which sky is the limit on varying. Foods I love the most right now are avocados, coconut milk, berries and all kinds of fresh fruit, which I enjoy every single day. I also have desserts every single day, but the healthy options, such as raw chocolate, coconut milk with berries and granola, and dried fruits, which I enjoy a lot. :) Overall, I truly enjoy healthy food, and have found that you can eat as much as you feel like as far as the food is fresh food and your diet is based on fresh ingredients. I never count on how many dried figs I've had as it does not make you bloat the way a bag of candies do. Besides, after finding the deliciousness of dried fruits and dark chocolate, you do not crave the same things you used to.

Yoga

I fell for yoga at the latest in Bali last January, when I travelled for five weeks in Asia. The teacher was amazing, describing the effects of the poses to your internal organs, and we always concentrated on one organ each class.

Through yoga, I've learned that exercising does not have to be constant performing, but a moment dedicated just for you and your body. I love to notice my body getting stronger and more flexible, and you can always set new goals, as no one can become a perfect yogi ;)

My intention is to one day become a yoga teacher, hopefully soon. Until then, I'll concentrate on developing myself and challenge myself on every class.

Wellbeing

This subject is too broad to even try to describe in few sentences (as are the other subjects as well:), and it composes of everything in your life - people you are surrounded by, home, your mental state of mind, physical wellbeing, and everyone as individual knows the best of what their wellbeing is all about. In general, I feel that having close relationships and the ability to enjoy life right now are keys to wellbeing. I also feel that wellbeing can always been developed, whether it is making new relationships, taking better care of your physical health, tiding your home or just enjoying the moment just now.

Travelling

I have been extremely lucky to be able to travel in countless amazing places since a child. It is impossible to pick a favorite destination. I love small villages of countrysides in Eastern Europe, the amazing beaches of Mauritius and deserted islands in Asia. New York City is the city that fascinates me more than any other. My intention is to spend my next summer there, but I'll write more on that later;)

Even though I feel like I have seen a lot, there is so much more that I have not seen. I dream of hiking in Norway and Iceland, safaris of Africa, California road trip, witnessing the amazing nature of Costa Rica, and the list goes on.

I feel like life is a journey and each day is a chance to experience something new. I want to live life to the fullest and I want t make this blog a channel to pass positive spirit :) I hope you participate to my journey. I'd love to receive comments and have conversation as well!

Welcome!!
