Morning energy boost


I love to start my day healthfully. Morning is the time to make good choices as breakfast is the first meal of the day – if you start your day by feeling light yet full of energy, you are more likely to keep making good choices as the day goes along.

I’m a fan of enjoying lots of fruit for breakfast to provide your body with a load of vitamins. Morning is the best time of the day to enjoy these treasures of nature as your tummy is empty and is able to easily digest the natural vitamins of the fruits immidiately once they get into your system. This is not possible after a heavy dinner as your digestion is still completing the process of this previous meal. That’s why I am encouraging you to treat your body with high quality nutrition at least in the morning – your body will thank you.

Enough for the lecturing, I want to introduce my new favorite breakfast. Chia seeds are true beauty food. You may read more of their health benefits from for example here (and get inspired by this lovely blog!) . This meal is healthy and easy, yet delicious!




3-4 tbs chia seeds
1-2 cups frozen berries (I used strawberries and black currants)
banana
kiwi or any fruit
2 tbs hemp seeds (optional)
honey to sweeten (optional)

You can really use your imagination in the choices - any kind of berries, fruits and seeds will do :). 

Prepare the chia gel overnight or in the morning by covering chia seeds with water in a glass and letting it swell for at least ten minutes (or overnight in the fridge). Once gel, throw the ingredients into blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy :)

Sunny Sunday

How has your Sunday been?

My morning consisted of studying, until I had to get out and enjoy some fresh air in the nature :).

My workouts this week: 3 HotFlow yoga classes and 3 power walks. Power walks with a friend are the best!

Amazing colors of Fall at Töölönlahti

Today I enjoyed the sunny Fall afternoon in Espoo. My favorite route goes along the coast line, which looked today even more beautiful than usually :).







I got my first iphone in the beginning of the week and I had to test Sports Tracker - handy!



What plans do you have for the upcoming week?
I have a mathematics exam tomorrow - better get back studying! Later sauna:)

Why don't we have these in Finland?




Healthy takeaway smoothies, juices etc - perfect. We saw this in Copenhagen food market last weekend (looooved the place btw) and had to take a picture. I want these in Helsinki as well! :)

Blue breakfast

I'm staying at my parent's apartment for the weekend. The fridge is full of frozen berries so I did not go for my regular green smoothie this morning but prepared a one to my dad and myself with blueberries and blackcurrants.







I threw in two bananas, a lot of black currants and blueberries and 2 glasses of fresh Tropicana red grapefruit juice. Delicious!

Next up some oatmeal and then preparing a business-related presentation for communications course for tomorrow. How is your Sunday?
